British by birth and educated in Australia and Canada, Steve now lives near the greater Toronto area with his family. Growing up in a middle class environment, recreational riding was a welcome escape from school and chores. Steve started riding off-road, as do many youths, with all of the consequences of such endeavours – bumps, bruises, broken bike bits, repairs and then doing it all again! Did he ever really learn?
Steve is an avid Kawasaki fan. His first bike was an ex-racer’s KX125, which he promptly thrashed teaching his younger brother to ride. Once he sold the KX, he took a little time away from two-wheeled life. The first street bike Steve ever swung a leg over was a borrowed GSXR-1100 early 90’s vintage. Steve has huge respect for the GSXR pedigree, but after his experiences with Kawasaki, he bleeds green. Steve bought a used 1998 ZX-7R, which was his favourite Kawasaki superbike from the glory days of Kawasaki Road Racing. It was on this bike that this amateur road racer got the knee-dragging bug! He then decided that formal training was required to prevent some serious damage to himself or to the bike and called upon the FAST riding school, which proved a significant benefit to his riding education. Armed with some newfound track knowledge and growing confidence, track days became the norm for Steve and the road riding began to take a back seat. The old ZX-7R, with the addition of many go-fast parts, has become a regular fast group track bike that on many occasions surprised the more modern machinery and the rider on it. Steve has been riding amateur track days since 2005.

Along with cast members Andy, Derek and Matt, he regularly attends Pro6, Riders Choice, Racer5 and Guys with Bikes track days and ride on such tracks as Mosport International Raceway, Shannonville Motorsports Park, Calabogie Motorsport Park and Toronto Motorsports Park in Canada. Steve has been the group’s technical person – tuning the suspensions, setting the bike ergonomics and helping with bike repairs. Steve is always willing to lend a hand to anyone that needs help.
